The Orchestra Chuck Built

\In 2016, the League of American Orchestras conducted a study that revealed a shocking statistic: only 1.8% of the professional orchestra workforce in the US is Black. From an old church rec room in the inner city of Los Angeles, former lawyer-turned-conductor Chuck Dickerson is on a mission to change that. With his majority Black and Latino youth orchestra — the largest of its kind in the country — Chuck is creating life-changing opportunities for his community that did not previously exist. The Orchestra Chuck Built is a loving portrait of a tireless mentor and a testament to the transformative power of music.

JORDAN

JORDAN is a short but epic tale about Jordan Conway, a curious adventurer and tween girl making a big discovery in a place where fantastical happenings are least expected to everyone but her. A mermaid enthusiast on a fishing trip with her father, Zod Conway, the pair find a distressed mermaid and take her back to Atlanta to care for her only to discover she is not exactly what she seems. Faced with the reality of the underwater world and her world above ground, the mermaid and her rescuers must reconcile the blindsiding truths about what happens below the ocean and above sea. An examination of identity and liberation, the film is a vibrant melodramatic exploration of the search for one’s own self in a world so rigidly functioning through environmental and social injustices above and below land.
