What is Afrikana?

 

 

Afrikana is a film festival dedicated to showcasing the cinematic works of people of color from around the world. We place a special focus on the global Black narrative. Our mission is to present high-quality, well-crafted stories that celebrate the diaspora and encourage people to connect.

Meet us at the ICA at VCU for the RVA premiere of Oscar award-winning director, Barry Jenkins' latest project, an adaptation of James Baldwin's tragic love story,
